Challenge:
Software Review Process Creates Wasteful Confusion
QuadraMed’s software development team creates regular updates and improvements to their software. As the team worked, it would release preliminary versions to the QuadraMed sales force, to get their review and comments. But this led to confusing, time-wasting and potentially harmful errors: Occasionally, the sales people would launch the wrong version, not find the proper version, or try to install the software on the network share instead of on their desktop. These issues created headaches and extra mop-up time for the software team and caused frustration and confusion for the sales force.
Solution:
New Software Library Provides Security and Effectiveness
Edge worked with QuadraMed’s existing SharePoint intranet to create a new software library. With version control and code that reveals only the latest approved software, confusion among the sales force is eliminated. We used SharePoint’s Alerts feature to automatically inform the sales force when new software is available. In addition, salespeople now have read-only access to the library—making it impossible for them to accidentally install software on the intranet.
Result:
Software Team and Sales Force Spend Time on Their Strengths
QuadraMed’s software team spends more time improving and adding features and less time cleaning up the network file share. The sales force can concentrate on pitching the latest enhancements on the latest software.
